ISI’s Christmas Networking event was a great success. Held in the historical Wood Quay Venue on 7^th December, attendees were greeted with mulled wine and mince pies.

Participants came from within the main areas of info security; identity and access management, network security, application security, security and threat management, data security, endpoint and content security, security operations, disaster recovery and governance risk and compliance.

Mathieu Gorge, ISI Chairman introduced the proceedings with a presentation on ISI background and objectives.  Aisling Foley, ISI Marketing Manager continued with information regarding membership, new members and a brief overview of some of the marketing activities planned for the next 3 to 6 months. New members include ITB Blanchardstown and Morrigan Partners.

This was followed by an elevator pitch by each attending, describing the company, market and customers.  Some common themes occurred:

• Geographical markets were UK, USA and Asia Pacific
• Routes to market were primarily direct, but channels are also used
• Infosec areas covered were compliance, ediscovery and preserving digital evidence, integration of partnerships, APIs and white labelling and cloud

Further networking events will be organised next year, with the first planned event being a round table discussion between research institutes and industry.
