Max joined the ISF with a varied background both academically and commercially. His most recent endeavour was undertaking a master’s degree at King’s College London in Intelligence & International Security, sparking his interest in information and cyber security. Prior to this Max spent time working for financial services firms, as well as a venture capital company based in Delhi, India. These experiences, coupled with a bachelor’s degree in History, have developed Max’s knowledge around global affairs, forecasting, strategic intelligence, and the way these shape current and future risk trends.

Max led the update of the report, Threat Intelligence: React and prepare, worked with the team on Threat Horizon 2024 and will be leading this year’s Threat Horizon 2025 project. He is also a regular contributor to the Analyst Insight podcast series, Computer Weekly’s Security Think Tank and a number of other platforms on a issues ranging from emerging threats to cyber policy.

Stemming from his academic experiences, Max is keenly interested in all aspects of forecasting and how organisations enrich their decision making for future strategy. Having developed strong beliefs on the erroneous nature of prediction, he has instead focused his energy on the value of assessing multiple possible outcomes.

Max would love to connect with anyone who has similar interests, works in this space, or has any book recommendations!
