Arunoshi Singh is a public policy and international relations graduate with a keen interest in information security governance. She has been supporting ISF Services in developing and delivering cyber awareness programmes, both in the form of cyber attack simulations and from a human-centred perspective since November 2021. She is leading the ISF contribution to CC Driver, a European Commission research project tackling the drivers of cybercrime and policy responses.
Arunoshi comes from an interdisciplinary background in public policy, trans border issues and criminology. She moved from Toronto to London to complete the MSc International Migration and Public Policy programme at the LSE. With a keen interest in social and economic elements of cybercrime, from a multi-disciplinary approach, she has been leading the development of a policy toolkit to tackle cybercrime CC DRIVER working with partner organisations across Europe.
One of the key lessons Arunoshi has learned in her time at the ISF is that an effective approach to tackling cyber crime is predicated on placing people at its centre, from both the business perspective and in public policy. In private sectors, attackers take advantage of the fact that employees are a reliable point of entry and have honed their techniques accordingly. By realigning existing security strategies to equip employees so that they can overcome these vulnerabilities, businesses can improve their resilience. For governments, focusing on people through ‘whole-of-society’ security awareness engagement supports individuals to protect themselves online while indirectly supporting private sector defences.
In her free time, she likes to read, take Pilates classes and take in live jazz music where she can.
